Odisha to have 3 new planetariums
Three new planetariums are being constructed in the state by the Science and Technology Department. These will be found in Ganjam, Mayurbhanj and Rayagada districts. The land identification for the structure is pending for Mayurbhanj and Rayagada district. However, nearly five acres of land has already been acquired in Gopalpur near the Berhampur University (Ganjam).Therefore the project will soon take off as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would lay the foundation stone for the proposed planetarium by end of November.The project is scheduled to be completed within two years. A Sub-regional Science Centre alongside the planetarium is also going to come up. The project entails a budget of Rs 6 crore which has acquired the detailed project report (DPR) approval from the government.
