New building norms by BDA
The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) is going to reforms its existing planning and building rules which will result in organized growth of both commercial and residential buildings and ensure necessary safety features and amenities. The aim is to get rid of the shortcomings of the previous norms and ensure structural and fire safety, making provisions for differently-abled persons and children and conservation of heritage while planning and giving approval to the applications. The stakeholders include developers, architects, planners, archaeologists, government agencies associated with urban development and officials of BDA and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) who will contribute towards the formation of the new rule. Revised provisions related to layout of different sizes of lands for residential, commercial and mixed-use types will also take shape.
