Capital Hospital to be the first government-run hospital to have the e-hospital tag
Aiming at paperless services at government hospitals, Odisha government has started the e-hospital project at Capital Hospital on pilot basis, thus turning it to be the first government-run hospital to adopt the system. This system will be managed by a five-member panel. The going paperless Government of India initiative is managed by National Informatics Centre (NIC). Currently, the project has been successfully implemented in 165 hospitals across the country. Under this project, the doctors will be able to access the medical history of patients and all the records online, patients seek appointments in the out-patient-department (OPD) and details of blood availability and other laboratory reports online as well as allow them to do online payments. With the help of the online system, the authorities would be able to manage the large footfall of nearly 700 patients every day and ensure higher transparency in its management.
