Capital Hospital gets three new facilities with Norway’s support
Under the Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) three new facilities at Capital Hospital viz the comprehensive skill lab, family centered care unit and pediatrics emergency triage- assessment and treatment unit has been established. These were inaugurated by the Ambassador of Norway to India, Nils Ragnar Kamsvag on Monday. Kamsvag said, "Our association with Odisha is nearly ten years old when NIPI was started in 2007. Ground reality has changed a lot over the years and Odisha has achieved milestones in reducing infant mortality rate (IMR) and mother mortality rate (MMR). Norway will continue its technical support to Odisha government in addressing various health issues." As per the National Family Health Survey-IV, Odisha's IMR was 96 deaths per 1000 live births in 2000, it has reduced to 40 deaths per 1000 live births in 2016 against the national average of 41.
