BBSR becomes the first Indian city to ever get APA Pierre L’Enfant International Planning Excellence
After having bagged the prestigious smartest city of India tag, Bhubaneswar Smart City has been selected to receive with the American Planning Association’s (APA) 2017 Pierre L’Enfant International Planning Excellence Award. The APA National Planning Award 2017 will be honored on 8th of May in New York City of United States. APA’s national awards program is accepted to be the profession’s highest honor which is being conferred since more than 50 years to recognize outstanding community plans, planning programs and initiatives, public education efforts and individuals for their leadership on planning issues. It is a commendable achievement for the capital city as it is for the first time in the history of the APA awards that an Indian city has been recognized for its planning efforts. Bhubaneswar Plan’s vision for the future has been instrumental in garnering this award. The plan is aimed to drive economic growth as well as ensure enhanced quality of life for its citizens via local development and through leveraging of technology for better services accessibility.
