ECoR adopts green energy for Carriage Repair Workshop
The East Coast Railway's (ECoR) Carriage Repair Workshop at Mancheswar, Bhubaneswar is going to create green energy to meet the workshop's needs. It will install a 0.65 megawatt solar power plant by October end. The solar plant will spread over 6,500 square metre inside the workshop at a projected budget of Rs 5.25 crore. There will be roof top installation of the solar panels. The project execution will be done by public-private partnership (PPP) mode through open bidding system. As per the terms and conditions, the lowest bidder will supply, install, commission and maintain the plant for 25 years. The entire expenditure of the project will be borne by the winning bidding firm. It is after 25 years that the railways will own the plant.
