Kandhamal district gets a new eco-tourism site
A new eco-tourism centre at Mula Gudari, has been inaugurated by secretary, forest department, Suresh Mohapatra.The centre spread over 10-acre involving a budget of Rs 44 lakh will be fully functional by June first week. Situated inside the mega nursery of forest department along Phulbani-Bhubaneswar road, the eco-tourism centre includes well-furnished five rooms and a Japanese garden. A Buddha statue, garden, aquariums and lighting system are other major highlights of the centre. An 18-member self-help group (SHG) in cooperation with the Forest staff and members of the vana surakshya samitis will manage the centre. The newly-developed eco-tourism centre will provide them accommodation for the tourists visiting different locations of Kandhamal like Daringibadi, Belghar, Phulbani town and Pokajhara etc. to enjoy its picturesque and cool climate especially during winters.
