IIIT-BBSR sets up finishing school to churn industry-worthy graduates
Odisha government has launched a ‘finishing school’, a specialized and dedicated programme to turn the engineering graduates ‘industry worthy. International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bhubaneswar has set up a ‘finishing school’ to implement the programme. The programme spanning over two months will provide different trainings like quality skills, employment oriented dexterity, quantitative aptitude, soft skills for 150 hours. It will be operational from the current academic year to enroll 300 students in3 batches. The first batch will start in July 2017. Any graduate in electrical sciences, communication engineering, information technology having domiciled in Orissais eligible for the course. The fee for the programme is Rs. 6,000 out of which 50% will be borne by the state government. Additionally, loan subvention schemes will be offered by the state government under which the student is just required to pay one per cent of interest and the remaining is borne by the state.
