Unique light and sound show at Konark soon
The Sun Temple Konark, a Unesco world heritage site, is soon going to offer light and sound show within a month. The tourism department has conducted the final preview of the 40-minute show which will have language options of Odia, Hindi and English. Under this first of its kind project, the audience will be provided with wireless headphones for high sound quality. In the absence of headphones, the spectators will not be able to hear anything. Such technological intervention in any light and sound show has been adopted for the first time in India. The Rs 5.5-crore Konark project is being taken up by the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and is funded by the state government. The charge will be Rs 30 per person for the show which will be scheduled sometime between 7 pm and 8 pm. The Konark light and sound show shall accommodate 250 tourists per show.
