NEEPCO to set up 200 Mw solar plant in Odisha
North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd (NEEPCO) a Mini-ratna central PSU has proposed to set up a 200 mw solar power plant entailing an investment of Rs 944.85 crore in Odisha. The project is scheduled to kick-start in December 2019. The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) cleared NEEPCO’s proposal on 29th July. Besides SLSWCA cleared projects proposed by Chettinad Cement Corporation and Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd thus totaling the approved investment proposals to Rs 1,325 crore. Chettinad Cement Corporation has proposed a green field cement grinding project at Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex in Jajpur district. The plant with a capacity of two million tonnes per annum (mtpa) will bring an investment of Rs 231.84 crore to the state. Ramky Enviro Engineers Ltd has proposed an integrated common hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facility at Katikela in Jharsuguda district. This will involve a total investment of Rs 148.63 crore. This is the after effect of three mega events-Make in Odisha Conclave in Bhubaneswar and Investors Meet in Mumbai and Bengaluru last year which have together attracted investment upto Rs 3.6 lakh crore. Investments proposals worth more than Rs two lakh crore are already approved and are at different stages of implementation.
