Digital platform for 300 Odisha schools
300 primary schools in Odisha are going to provide a digital platform for its students in the form of an interactive learning App. The App , is accessible off line at low cost and is targeted to enhance the skills of students in the age groups 3- 14 years. Pratham- an education sector voluntary organization, has developed this application (App) PraDigi which has been launched in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. Puspanjali Parida, state head of Pratham said, "The interactive App will act as a catalyst for students in understanding subjects. We don't claim it as a substitute of traditional medium of teaching but it will certainly improve learning skills of students of different age groups." A tablet preloaded with the PraDigi app will be provided to each school. Students will be exposed to the digital platform for 45 minutes daily. The multilingual App designed on Android platform has already been piloted in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, is sure to enhance learning capabilities of students of state schools. It has various resources based on games and music on subjects like Mathematics,Science, Odia and English language. It contains 25 games and 500+ videos. In addition to 300 schools, the App will be adopted by 750 villages in 15 Odisha districts with community level implementation to guide students.
