'Pragati Sathis' Phase-II training is on @Socially Smart Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar has organized a three-days training and capacity building workshop for 30 peer leader girls from eight slums of the city from 6th November at CYSD. This is the second phase training for the girls from city slums, while introductory training was held in July. The current session will focus on training and tips on leadership development and adolescent health issues. Under Socially Smart Bhubaneswar initiative of the BMC and Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL), these peer leader girls have been named as ‘Pragati Sathi’ who are involved in community awareness and mapping activities. The Pragati Sathis have been successful in resolving the various communal issues in their respective slums with the support of the authorities. In addition to the civic body initiatives, these peer leaders are also organizing several public interface programmes in their areas along with police and other govt. agencies.
