Youths' novel ideas to make the city smart and safe
Tremendous Response evoked by Bhubaneswar Municipality corporation in collaboration with UNFPA India for 'City changer lab', a competition that invited youths to come up with innovative ideas on the betterment of the city's growth and safety. Hundred Thirty students from eleven educational institutes participated like KIIT, SOA and Centurion Universities, CET Engineering College, Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology, CV Raman Engineering College, DAV Management Institute, Srusti Academy and Astha School of Management presented 3-D models of their innovations and ideas. Design of red chili bangles and lipsticks for women's safety, under water sensors to identify blockage of rain water, planting of more peepal trees for better oxy- generated air in the city, kiosks at places to help visually impaired and sensors signalling smart dustbin status are few of the propositions that caught the attention of the panelists.
