'City changer lab' a platform jointly promoted by Bhubaneswar Smart City Ltd and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation ( BMC) and UNFPA India helps the local students from different institutions to promote their ideas/ technology solutions and engage them into different socio commercial projects of smart city Bhubaneswar. Around 35 proposals received on safety security of girls/woman and senior citizens, city sanitation, city traffic management and city drinking waste management were developed and displayed by the students of local technical and management institutions. Among the technology solutions displayed on smart city issues by local youth, design of red chili bangles and lipsticks for women's safety, under-water sensors to identify blockage of rain water, planting of more peepal trees for better oxy- generated air in the city, kiosks at places to help visually impaired and sensors signalling smart dustbin status are few of the propositions that caught the attention of the panelists.
