Bhubaneswar to have two more rental housing complexes for construction workers
Bhubaneswar is soon going to offer two rental housing complexes at Shampur and Chandrasekharpur. These are aimed at providing shelter to 200 migrant construction workers thereby making the urban development scenario, slum-free. The project will be taken up by the BDA entailing Rs 5.64 crore budget which will come up over an area of 0.356 acres. The complexes also called as Social Equity Centre will have all basic amenities including toilets, mass kitchen, common dining hall, Aahar Centre (subsidized cooked meal), water ATM with RO purified water as well as provision for health-care service. The workers can avail this facility by paying a nominal monthly rent. To accommodate the urban homeless, fifty additional beds will be provided.
