Odisha gets direct flight connectivity to Sharjah for about a month
Soon after Bangkok, Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) is going to get direct air connectivity to Sharjah from16th February to 24th March. It is possible via low-cost airline IndiGo which is also providing direct flight services to Sharjah from two cities ie Lukhnow and Hyderabad from 29th December. According to Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer of IndiGo, “Expanding operations to Sharjah on the 6E network is in response to the growing demand on the sector. These new flights will also open up immense connectivity to and from other cities on our network, supported by 149 Airbus-320 strong fleet and 1 ATR Aircraft..” With this development, the capital has direct flights to three foreign locations namely Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Sharjah through Air Asia, Air India & IndiGo respectively.
