Odisha signs MOU with British Counsil for joint action
On the occasion of British Council’s 70 years of presence in India, Odisha Government inks a pact with British Council for cooperation and collaboration in various fields. On the strength of the pact the British Council will expand its existing work in the state. The areas of potential collaboration include developing initiatives to improve capacity and motivation of English language teachers in primary and secondary schools, set up of teacher development institutions, and to improve learner outcomes in English in the State and embed internationally benchmarked assessments. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik, British High Commissioner Dominic Asquith, members of commonwealth countries and officials of state government and British Council had a conspicuous presence at the event.
