Cancer hospital to be set in capital city
State government and Tata Trusts collaboratively planning for Greenfield Tata Memorial Hospital, a cancer hospital in Bhubaneswar along with the upliftment of facilities in Acharya Harihara Regional Cancer Centre in Cuttack and 13 district head quarter hospitals. At present, around 50,000 people in the state are affected with the deadly disease with oral, cervical and breast cancer being more prevalent. As per the statement of one city's renowned uncologist, Tobacco chewing and pesticide usage are presumably the culprits though extensive research required for conclusion. Built up over a land of 25 acres, the 800 crores project is expected to be at par with Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai.
