Chief Minister launched Ground Water recharge project
State Government has launched the ground water recharge project in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in fifteen districts suffering from water crisis. Renovation of 1000 ponds, digging of 1000 bore wells with solar pumping based micro irrigation system, training of technical staffs to look after the project and deployment of volunteers to educate public on water conservation are the highlights of the program. Restoration of 1.65 lakhs feet ground water within next five years is set as the target by the state government.
