Sweden to partner in Indian smart city mission
Sweden is keen to contribute to the Indian smart cities dream. It has proposed a common plan of action in the field of solid waste management and sustainable and eco-friendly public transport using its expertise and technology. Recently, there was a meeting between Sweden's Minister of European Union Affairs and Trade Ann Linde and urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu regarding the smart cities partnership. Earlier in 2015, the two countries had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote sustainable urban development and Smart City Mission. SCANIA a Swedish company shall operate 55 ethanol-run buses in Nagpur soon. Naidu expressed that selected Indian smart cities would be glad to benefit from Swedish technologies.
