NCR to have a 240-acre smart greenfield city at Ghitorni
A 240-acre greenfield city with smart city features is coming up at Ghitorni in the national capital. The Rs 15,000 crore project will be developed in partnership with Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) on self-financing basis. Under this five years project, 6,500 homes under the general pool residential accommodation (GPRA) will be created. CPWD will be responsible for building GPRA houses and office space for public sector agencies. Around 500 homes and office and commercial space to be sold to others will be constructed by NBCC. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the redevelopment of other seven GPRA colonies in the national capital has already been signed between NBCC and CPWD and the ministry of urban development last October.
