Malaysia launches IoT based Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing system
National digital security specialist CyberSecurity Malaysia announced launch of a vulnerability assessment and penetration testing system for Internet of Things (IoT). A deal has been struck between CyberSecurity Malaysia and Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) to examine Smart City security projects. CyberSecurity Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Dr Amirudin Abdul Wahab re-affirmed that the Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) system is 'a first of its kind for Malaysia.' The project is targeted to be complete in just over two years. It is segregated into seven scopes including public WiFi and CCTV. The primary focus would be to strengthen cybersecurity aspects of Smart City development with emphasis on IoT systems.
