Hirakud ropeway work initiated
The process of building of 421 KM ropeway from Gandhi Minar, Burla to Jawahar Udyan at Hirakud is another endeavor of Odisha tourism which is the main contributor to the economy of Odisha. 5 crore has been disbursed by MCL out of the estimated 6.62 crore with an assurance for funding the rest amount.This ropeway is constituted of four towers and twelve four sitter cabins. Construction work of two towers on Jawahar Udyana park below Hirakud Dam has been started while towers on Gandhi Minar will be built after an approval from forest department. It will result in more footfall.
