From today, no vehicle will be allowed to carry minerals without having GPS facility." Out of total 32,400 trucks and tippers involved in the transportation of minerals, about 24,000 vehicles have adhered by the notification, remaining 8,000 trucks have been directed to expedite the installation process. Once all the vehicles carrying minerals are GPS enabled, a comprehensive surveillance of the transportation process would be ensured via the technical assistance from Odisha Space Application Centre (ORSAC).
