Odisha launches digital platform to share government data with people
Odisha government launched a dedicated web portal (odisha.data.gov.in) with the objective of sharing data related to government departments and development programmes. While launching the portal during a workshop on open data sharing at the state secretariat, Chief secretary A P Padhi, directed the departments to update data on public platform regularly for use of citizens and civil society. Departments engaged in delivering public services like health and family welfare, school and mass education, higher education, housing and urban development and women and child development must adhere to the process urgently. Data available here is down loadable, can be transferred digitally and used for learning, research and for creation of smart apps for further use. Information technology secretary A K Meena shared that the primary aim of the portal is to share the data related to implementation of development programmes which was inaccessible so far, with the public.
