Odisha signs MoU with Singapore based ITEES for enhanced skill development ecosystem
Taking the transformation drive of the skill development ecosystem forward, Odisha government on 2nd November signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for five years with Singapore based ITE education services (ITEES), a subsidiary of Institute of Technical Education, Singapore. Under this, the Singapore based agency will do knowledge sharing in technical and vocational training as well as provide consultancy support to the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), state's nodal agency for skill development. Proposed Advanced Skill Training Institutes developed at Angul, Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Jeypore, Bolangir, Jharsuguda and Rourkela will be benefitted by this collaboration. As a part of this, "As many as 100 teachers from the state government-run industrial training institute (ITI) will visit Singapore for two-week training on leadership development in 2018," shared chief minister Naveen Patnaik. Human and social capital development directed towards enhanced community development through skill development is the higher goal of the programme. Partnering with other international agencies through ITEES is also expected.
