BBSR Bus service goes high tech
Capital city is being prepared with a futuristic approach for the city transport system. To begin with State government has plans to modernize the bus system in four phases. Phase 1 will see the incorporation of 200 new AC and non Ac bus service by end of October this year. Phase 2 has plans to introduce and promote electric vehicles whereas phase 3 and 4 will see the launch of 700 new buses with 310 old buses. Being part of the Smart ITS system these plans will be executed in sync with futuristic vehicle tracking system, passenger information system, route planner, operation scheduling, crew scheduling with finance backed up by Smart city. It can be noted that Master System Integrator is ready to start the exercise of the ITS(Intelligent Transportation System) through the Intelligent City Operations and Management Centre (ICOMC). The whole exercise looks promising to bring the city traffic in order to reduce the cost of transportation and lessen the pollution in and around the city.
