State launches Student Police Cadet in 40 schools
Recently, the police headquarters launched a scheme, christened as student police cadet (SPC) in as many as 40 schools across Odisha to make students responsible citizens and inculcate moral values, ethics and discipline in the budding minds. Each school will have a contingent of 44 cadets, including 22 girls and out of 40 schools, 33 are run by state government while rest included Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Police will also hold regular and healthy interface with students and shall take their suggestions to strengthen the scheme. This scheme will thereby empower them to resist the growth of negative tendencies such as social intolerance, substance abuse and anti-establishment violence.
