Tirupati to launch e-autos for garbage collection
From 20th of December, the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) is all set to introduce e-autorickshaws and e-schools in the city. The MCT has procured 50 e-autorickshaws for collecting the garbage from each division. The plan is to dedicate one e-auto per division. These battery powered e-autos are expected to be suitable to collect garbage from narrow lanes in temple city. These eco-friendly autos can operate upto 80 km once charged. On the other hand, the e-school project has already been launched on a pilot basis in upper primary school at Singala Gunta for the last one year. The smart infrastructure in the school includes computer lab, modern teaching aids, audio system, a big screen and projector through which teaching lessons are imparted to students using an innovative approach. Under smart city initiative, the authorities will deploy the e-school project for two more schools namely, Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu Municipal High School and Sri Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Municipal High School.
