Chandigarh launches Smart prepaid card
Aiming to achieve digitization and cashless society, UT Administrator and Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore launched Chandigarh Smart City Card today, i.e., 13th December, 2017. The card can be used to make payment at city government offices, all public and private transport modes like CTU buses and private taxis, smart parking lots, retail stores, cinema halls etc. The soft launch of the card will take place on 25th December to commemorate the Good Governance Day, post which the card can be used. City residents having Aadhaar card can apply for Chandigarh Smart City Card by paying Rs 500, of which Rs 150 is the card-making fee while Rs 350 could be used for payments. No subsequent recharge fee would be charged, while recharging of card can be done at Sampark centres or online through debit card, internet banking or UPI-BHIM applications.
