Assessment of Smart cities' living standard
The housing and urban affairs ministry has selected Bhuaneswar and Rourkela among 116 other cities of the country to assess their living standards with the standards set by the centre. Livability of these cities will be assessed under 15 categories which includes governance, health and education, safety, identity and culture, economy, pollution, mixed use of land, open spaces, urban mobility and other core urban services. Authorities are optimistic about Bhubaneswar smart city to meet the target though measures are being taken to improve certain areas like sanitation and mobility.
